Issue: The :H Drive is not appearing in File Explorer.
Troubleshooting Steps:
1. Open the Hamachi app on your computer and verify it is turned and on connected. If you do not see the app you can search for it in the search window on your computer.
2. Select the Help tap then Diagnostic Tool
Note: If you are working from a home internet connection, you can use the MPIApps server as a temporary workaround if the VPN is working.
3. Click Start and let the tool run
4. If test passes move on to set 5, if anything fails contact IT Support.
5. Open Command Prompt by searching in the search window
6. Type ping mpisrv in the open window and hit the Enter key
If successful you'll see 4 replys from the server. The ping command is a simple test for communication from the computer to the server
7. In the same window type gpupdate /force and press the Enter key.
The updating policy text will appear and the policy should update showing the :H drive in File Explorer. If it fails move on to step 8.
8. Manually map the network drive in File Explorer
a. Open File Explorer and right click on This PC and select properties
or select the drop down from the tool bar
b. Select the :H drive letter from the drop down menu and enter in the file path \\mpisrv\data into the folder window and click Finish.
The drive should map in File Explore. If it Fails move on to step 9.
9. Verify Network setting are set to Private
Follow steps here Make a Wi-Fi network public or private in Windows - Microsoft Support
If the :H drive still doesn't appear and turning off Hamachi and restarting your computer did not work contact IT Support.
Note: If you are working from a home internet connection, you can use the MPIApps server as a temporary workaround. Troubleshooting the home network connection is time consuming and requires resetting your network settings.
