QuickBooks Report Export to Excel Warning: Excel allows 256 columns in a Worksheet Print

Issue:

When I try to export my QuickBooks report (any report) to Excel, I get following warning:

Nothing happens when click on "Ok" in that warning dialog.

Resolution (Note which way you have QuickBooks open and running):

MPIApps Remote Desktop (Server):

Close all open Excel windows and attempt to run the report again.

QuickBooks Desktop Shortcut:

1. Close all open Excel Windows

2. Logout of QuickBooks

3. Sign into Remote Desktop MPIApps

4. Close all open Excel windows, if any are open.

5. Logout and close the Remote Desktop app

6. Open the QuickBooks shortcut saved on your desktop and run the report again.

Why Does This Happen?

QuickBooks is reading all open Excel worksheets as one worksheet and adding all the columns together.
